Apple Original Films’ forthcoming project, F1, features Brad Pitt and Damson Idris in lead roles, with Joseph Kosinski helming the director’s chair and Jerry Bruckheimer serving as producer. Collaborating with Mercedes-AMG—a powerhouse renowned for its dominance in Formula 1 through numerous Driver’s and Constructor’s titles—the film’s creators leveraged the brand’s technical prowess to craft dynamic racing sequences. Mercedes-AMG also contributed several race-inspired vehicles to authentically outfit key scenes in the production.

The creators behind the F1 film and Mercedes-AMG are honoring their joint venture with an exclusive limited-production car: the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition.

Cinematic Speed, Brought to Life

The fictional APXGP team, featured in the F1 film starring Pitt and Idris, was showcased during real Grand Prix events worldwide. While their on-screen rivalry with Mercedes-AMG drivers like Russell and Antonelli is pure Hollywood fantasy, the APXGP car’s design mirrors the authenticity of the Silver Arrows’ machines.

Though its black-and-gold livery nods to historic Lotus F1 color schemes, the movie car’s aesthetic directly inspired the limited-run Mercedes-AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition. A matte black foundation sets the stage, layered with Race Gold accents—from the grille’s outline to the rear diffuser’s trim. A standout feature is the hand-painted checkered flag motif behind the gold-fronted fender vents, while 21-inch forged wheels in matching gold complete the aggressive stance.

The rear section mirrors the film car’s DNA, with a geometric gray pattern framing the fixed carbon fiber spoiler. Inside, the race-bred theme continues: illuminated door sills glow with AMG branding, while the cabin blends black surfaces with gold contrast stitching on seats, steering wheel, and console. Floor mats boast leather edging and embroidered AMG emblems, while gloss carbon fiber trim is subtly upgraded with gold threading.

Every detail—from the exterior’s metallic drama to the interior’s podium-worthy flourishes—ensures this GT 63 embodies the adrenaline of the silver screen, echoing the cinematic race car’s aesthetic down to the last stitch.

At its core, the APXGP Edition remains a lavishly appointed AMG GT 63. Under the hood lies the same handcrafted 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, generating 577 horsepower and propelling the coupe from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds, bolstered by the grip of the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. Performance hardware like the carbon-ceramic braking system, rear-axle steering, and adaptive anti-roll bars underscores its track-ready capabilities.

Enhanced by the AMG Carbon Fiber, AMG Extended Night, and AMG Aerodynamics packages, this iteration boasts aggressive styling upgrades and improved aerodynamic grip for spirited driving.

Production of the GT 63 APXGP Edition will be capped at 52 units globally, each featuring a numbered center console plaque and a custom indoor car cover.

As for whimsical extras? While no inflatable Brad Pitt figure actually occupies the passenger seat (we couldn’t resist the tease), spotting a black-and-gold missile on the road might still spark speculation.
